The Collections Director is responsible for leading a high‑performing collections organization overseeing a $100M accounts receivable portfolio across 4,000 customer accounts. This role drives timely collections, drives process improvement initiatives, and partners cross‑functionally to support cash‑flow objectives while balancing customer and business needs.

 

This is an on-site position at our corporate headquarters in Tamarac, FL.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team overseeing $100M+ AR and 4,000 customer accounts.
• Set performance expectations and drive accountability for aging, DSO, write-offs, and customer resolution metrics.
• Manage workload prioritization, staffing needs, and daily team operations.
• Hire, train, and onboard new team members.

 

Operational Excellence
• Oversee timely processing of payments, support cash application (including short-pays, credits, and remit advice), and ensure accuracy of administrative tasks.
• Conduct daily reviews of collection reports and ensure transparency to leadership through daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
• Coordinate collection activities across multiple product and service lines.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner closely with Sales and Operations leadership to resolve customer issues, enforce collection guidelines, and manage customer account holds.
• Work with Finance and IT to support reporting, data accuracy, and system dependencies.
• Facilitate alignment across internal teams to resolve root‑cause issues impacting invoice quality or collectability.

 

Process & System Improvements
• Champion Billing‑to‑Cash improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain procedures, documentation, and job guides to support consistent execution.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of B2B collections experience in customer‑facing environments.
• 5+ years leadership experience managing teams of 7 or more.
• Experience in shared services or financial operations highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred; MBA a plus.
• Background in car wash, manufacturing, or distribution industries is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and professionalism.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; SAP experience preferred.
