Overview

The Engineering Lab Technician supports engineering and product development activities by performing hands-on testing, data collection, equipment setup, and documentation. This role ensures accurate and timely execution of lab tests and experiments, supporting engineering staff in product validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

· Prepare, set up, and operate laboratory test equipment to support engineering validation and product development.

· Conduct mechanical, electrical, and environmental testing on components and assemblies.

· Record, analyze, and report test results with accuracy and attention to detail.

· Assist engineers in troubleshooting prototypes and production equipment.

· Maintain lab equipment, tools, and inventory to ensure availability and reliability.

· Follow established test protocols, work instructions, and safety standards.

· Assemble and disassemble prototype components for testing and evaluation.

· Provide feedback to engineering teams regarding product performance and improvements.

· Assist with documentation, including test procedures, work instructions, and technical reports.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives within the lab environment.

· Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and environmental policies.

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Formal Training:

Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, or related field preferred.

 

Experience:

· 2+ years of hands-on lab, testing, or technician experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

· Experience with data acquisition systems and test software preferred.

· Familiarity with CAD software (Inventor/SolidWorks) a plus.

· ERP system knowledge (SAP preferred) a plus
