Overview

The Senior Manager- Facility Maintenance oversees all aspects of facility maintenance, building operations, and asset management to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable work environment. This role leads a team of maintenance professionals, manages preventive and corrective maintenance programs, coordinates capital projects, and ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with hands-on technical expertise and strong organizational skills.

Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm, additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance technicians, supervisors, and contractors.
  • Develop and execute facility maintenance strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation for maintenance operations.

Maintenance Operations

  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, security, and structural components.
  • Oversee work order systems and ensure timely completion of maintenance requests.
  • Coordinate major repairs, renovations, and capital improvement projects.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, EPA, and other relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, permits, and certifications.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through training and regular audits.

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Negotiate and manage service contracts with external vendors and suppliers.
  • Monitor contractor performance, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.

Sustainability & Cost Efficiency

  • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Recommend and implement sustainable facility initiatives.

Emergency Response

  • Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and business continuity plans.
  • Act as a key point of contact during critical incidents affecting facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance best practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and capital projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Professional certifications such as CFM, FMP, PMP, or equivalent are preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE


Working Conditions: Entire facility: office environment and manufacturing environment.


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to walk, stand, and inspect building interiors/exteriors regularly.
  • May occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders or access equipment areas.
  • Ability to respond to facility emergencies outside regular business hours.
