The Merchant Onboarding Specialist will own the process and day-to-day management of onboarding merchants with our processing partners. The role includes account processing, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all required merchant account setup documentation and boarding of credit card devices.

· Processes merchant onboarding applications and coordinates resolution of any issues with partners and merchants. Leads resolution of any merchant setup or configuration issues. Understands potential issues and proactively takes steps to avoid or resolve them.

· Serve as primary point of interface between internal teams and resources, and external vendors, partners and merchants with regard to merchant application and onboarding.

· Proactively recommends product and process changes to improve the partner and merchant experience.

· Executes defined procedures to review and evaluate new and existing merchant payment processing account set-up documentation.

· Works independently with limited instructions to identify potential documentation inaccuracies and information deficiencies

· Makes direct customer contact via outbound calls and email to obtain or verify business, personal and processing information, both for internal and external clients

· Provides accurate, and timely resolutions to complex or escalated customer issues associated with the merchant account

· Handle multiple tasks and quickly pivot from one task to another; demonstrating highly effective time management skills and ability to prioritize merchant onboarding requests and merchant account set-ups.

· Maintains or exceeds established standards for merchant account set-up procedures and timelines.

· Proactively seeks recommendations on process improvements, while also identifying areas where improvement is needed and contributes to making the necessary changes

· Document complete, concise and accurate Salesforce case notes.

· Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

· Background in merchant onboarding and support or experience in a similar role within the payments industry is highly preferred.

· Working knowledge of merchant services account opening process.

· Exceptional attention to detail, independent worker.

· Experience working directly with large merchants, across multiple industries.
