The Assembler I performs manual labor along a production line. The Assembler produces components by assembling fabricated parts and subassemblies. Duties include assembly of components, sub-assemblies and examining items as they are produced. Additionally, the Assembler operates and troubleshoots production line machinery. Works under immediate supervision. Entry Level Position.

Hours: First Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM), additional hours as needed
· Cross-training matrix Level I. Fully trained in less than 5 departments as defined by the Training Matrix (28% of assembled parts)
· Must complete Forklift Certification through Sonny’s Enterprises
· Studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
· Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
· Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements. Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs)
· Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
· Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards
· Count finished products to determine if product orders are complete
· Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources
· Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
· Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
· Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
· The use of safety PPE equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toe shoes, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted
Physical Demands:
· Regularly required to stand or sit, and move about the facility. Ability to stand for 8+ hours per day.
· Must be able to work in non-climate controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air.
Education and Formal Training:
· Entry Level – Experience preferred but not required
· High School Diploma/GED preferred
Materials and Equipment Used:
· Tools: Impact Driver, Air Ratchet, Socket set, Box End, Allen, Torx Wrenches, Screwdrivers, Nut Divers, Pneumatic riveters, Drills (cordless, electric) and drill bits, Vices, Taps, Cutting Tools, Hammers, Other machinery (swage crimpers, cloth cutters, impeller balancing, MIG).
