The Vice President, Total Rewards is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of compensation, benefits, payroll, HR systems, and people data analytics across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and India. This position leads all aspects of Total Rewards—including executive compensation, sales incentives, equity programs, and benefits—with a focus on building scalable infrastructure to support business growth and performance.
The VP leads centralized U.S.-based functions and provides dotted-line leadership to an expanding India-based team. This role partners closely with senior leadership, Finance, HR Business Partners, and Commercial leaders to ensure Total Rewards strategies are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with business objectives.
Compensation Strategy & Program Design:
• Develop and evolve global compensation strategies including base pay structures, executive compensation, incentive plans, and long-term equity programs.
• Review and enhance sales compensation and commission plans to ensure alignment with business goals and financial sustainability.
• Advise on executive offers, promotions, retention plans, severance packages, and compensation governance.
• Evaluate market competitiveness and internal equity using compensation surveys and benchmarking data.
• Lead people planning and headcount budgeting with Finance and HR Operations.
• Oversee relocation programs, including third-party administrator (TPA) management, relocation policy design, and end-to-end process administration.
Equity & Long-Term Incentives
• Administer global equity programs, including grants, vesting, settlements, and terminations.
• Ensure equity processes and systems are accurate, compliant, and aligned with governance guidelines.
Job Architecture
• Lead the implementation and maintenance of scalable job architecture, including role mapping, titling conventions, and employee alignment across regions and functions.
• Maintain company-wide consistency in job descriptions and leveling.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners to ensure accurate alignment of compensation with role scope and responsibilities.
HR & Compensation Analytics
• Lead HR and compensation data analytics, dashboards, and reporting.
• Provide regular insights to leadership on pay equity, incentive effectiveness, headcount trends, and workforce planning.
• Ensure data integrity across systems and support scalable reporting solutions.
HRIS & Payroll
• Oversee payroll operations and ensure global payroll alignment and compliance.
• Partner with HR and IT to evaluate and implement a new global HRIS within the next 1–2 years.
• Drive automation and process efficiency in HR operations and data management.
Global Total Rewards Oversight
• Ensure alignment of Total Rewards programs across U.S., Canada, Mexico, and India.
• Provide dotted-line leadership to India-based team as global capabilities expand.
• Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and compensation trends globally.
Mergers & Acquisitions
• Partner on M&A due diligence and integration of compensation and benefits programs.
• Lead harmonization of total rewards programs post-acquisition.
Benefits Strategy
• Oversee employee benefits programs in partnership with external brokers and consultants.
• Ensure benefits offerings are cost-effective, competitive, compliant, and support employee retention.
• Collaborate with external brokers and internal teams on benefit design and communications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience with at least 7 years in a Total Rewards leadership role.
• Experience designing and managing executive compensation, sales incentives, and long-term equity programs.
• Proven track record implementing or overhauling job architecture frameworks.
• Experience overseeing payroll and managing global compensation programs.
• Prior involvement in HRIS evaluation and implementation; strong systems acumen preferred.
• Experience with headcount budgeting and people planning in collaboration with Finance and HR Operations.
• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) strongly preferred.
• Advanced to expert Excel skills (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros) required.
• Strong analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills.
• Business acumen and leadership presence to interface with C-suite and Board.
