Overview

The Strategic Planning and Inventory Specialist is responsible for optimizing inventory management processes anddeveloping strategic plans to align inventory levels with organizational goals. This role involves conductingthorough analyses of inventory data, forecasting demand, and implementing best practices to improve efficiencyand reduce costs. The specialist collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement,operations, and finance, to ensure seamless inventory flow and timely availability of products.Category: ExemptDept: Strategic Materials Inventory Planning (SGA Strat MatInv Plan)Reports to: Director – Material & Inventory StrategyHours: 8:00 am—5:00 pm

Responsibilities

Production Planning & Monitoring:• Creates and reviews production plans and monitors performance/health of the scheduled orders atrespective locations.• Maintains a rolling production schedule for each work center in the manufacturing facility.• Creates and reviews daily and weekly reports to monitor performance/health of production orders.Order and Demand Management:• Strategically reviews all orders 1-3 months ahead, reviews plan for every part (PFEP), and collaborates withpurchasing, sales, and operations to ensure demand can be met.• Tactically creates, releases, prints, and monitors production orders as needed.Master Data Management:• Manages, reviews, and updates master data; checks that the updates yielded expected results in MRPruns.ERP System Expertise:• Deep understanding of ERP systems; seen as SME for ERP and eager to teach and actively solve problemscollaboratively with counterparts in operations, purchasing, and customer service.Process Development & Reporting:• Develops and documents planning and inventory processes, reviews daily and weekly reports to monitorperformance/health of processes.• Develops standards for the cycle count program, reviews discrepancies, and drives accuracy improvements.Continuous Improvement:• Utilize advanced CAD techniques such as parametric modeling, surfacing, and simulation to optimizedesigns for performance, cost, and manufacturability.

Qualifications

Experience & Education:• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics or a relevant field ofstudy.• 3-5 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain or strategic planning role.• Proven track record in demand forecasting, inventory analysis, and process optimization.• Experience with inventory management software and data analytics tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, BItools).• Familiarity with lean inventory principles and methodologies.• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make strategic recommendations.• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.• Strong communication skills to present design concepts, solutions, and progress to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Working Conditions & Physical Demands:• Majority of the time will be in an office/lab environment using computer-aided design software.• Regularly required to stand and sit and move about the facility/shop floor.Candidates will be required to complete a background check and drug screen before beginning work.

The pay range for this role is USD $84,315/yr. - $113,883/yr. The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’scombination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training,and experience.
