The Technical Product Manager manages and supports assigned product lines and reports to the Product Line Director. This position is responsible for product vision, strategy, and roadmap. This role is a key member of the product management team and will analyze market and competitive conditions, lay out a differentiated product vision, and deliver unique value based on customer demands. This role works collaboratively with engineering, sales, business development, operations, and marketing.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for the company’s product portfolios, aligning with company goals and market demands.
• Manage the pricing and discount strategy for the product portfolios with pricing grids to optimize profitability.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of product managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Delegate responsibilities and tasks to direct reports to support the product portfolios with speed and efficiency.
• Conduct regular market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor activities, using insights to drive product innovation and positioning.
• Evaluate and optimize the product portfolio to ensure profitability, competitiveness, and alignment with business objectives.
• Define and prioritize the product development roadmap, collaborating cross functionally to ensure successful product launches and lifecycle management.
• Manage complex projects across functions, like leading SKU rationalization efforts and driving NPD.
• Maintain a library of competitive product knowledge for sales, marketing, and engineering.
• Create and update market share models regularly to track Sonny’s performance relative to peers.
• Drive revenue growth through product innovation, market expansion, and strategic partnerships.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of products and initiatives, regularly reporting on progress to senior leadership.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in product management with a proven track record of success in developing and launching products.
• Deep understanding of the car wash industry, including market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable product plans.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions that exceed customer expectations.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams, with a passion for mentoring and coaching others to achieve their full potential.
