Overview

Successfully and effectively leads distribution facility. Manages inbound activities related to receipt and storage of goods, inventory management and put away of product.  Manages outbound activities related to order planning, picking and shipping by customer pick-up, small parcel or LTL shipment, or via company vehicles. Responsible for Distribution Center (DC) customer service levels, safety, and equipment maintenance/operations. Administers overall inventory management, productivity and accuracy programs to ensure both customer requirements and financial requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
  • Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Coordinating with Project Manager to ensure equipment orders are delivered to site to coincide with job schedules.
  • Maintain warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintain warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing warehouse operations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to details and sense of urgency
  • Able to handle high volume, fast paced, ever changing, ever changing environment
  • Able to lift 50 lbs on a regular bases
  • Computer literate
  • Must have forklift certification
  • Must be able to work without supervision
  • Ability to work on Saturday and Sundays
  • Knowledge of HAZMAT handling and shipping processes and record keeping
  • Knowledge of general business practices and cost accounting principles
  • Experience dealing with all levels of management and with resolving customer issues.
  • Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle report (insurable)
  • Broad knowledge and experience with material handling, warehouse operations and transportation systems. Prefer knowledge of RF scanning, conveyors, flow racks, carousels, etc.
  • Continuous Improvement as well as reactive and proactive problem solving skills
