Overview

We are seeking a Manager, Parts and Equipment Inventory to lead a team of analysts responsible for using data analysis and business acumen to identify opportunities and lead initiatives that optimize cost, maximize service and improve sustainability of our operation through inventory management across the Sonny’s organization. This person will work closely with peer groups on planning, designing, and implementing of new systems or changes in existing systems.  

 

Responsibilities

  • Working with the Planning, Warehouse, and Purchasing Teams develop new process and solutions focused on right-sizing inventory levels and increasing inventory accuracy throughout the operations.
  • Leads strategic initiative across Sonny’s organization to right-size inventory and standardize calculations.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and automation of key processes. Collaborate with master data management team on standardization and automation of location specific plan for every part (PFEP) files ensuring data integrity and level setting calculation accuracy.
  • Take ownership of Inventory Planning across Sonny’s equipment and parts discrete manufacturing and distribution centers. Ensure items are set up correctly between DC’s and manufacturing to ensure high-level of service to the operations; ensure Master Data is setup accordingly to support the business needs.
  • Possesses an understanding of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (SAP S4 Hana).
  • Acts as liaison between the SAP team and the business to resolve system issues.
  • Standardizes inventory level calculation for discrete manufacturing and distribution sites within Sonny’s and rolls out standard across the organization.
  • Develops and documents standards for processes and policies related to inventory; prepares and leads trainings for site leadership and individual contributors to ensure understanding.
  • Ensure Inventory discrepancies are handled and resolved with a high-level of urgency to minimize impact on the operations (Production & Shipping).
  • Actively participate in new product introduction meetings and launches as needed.
  • Lead Projects focused on improving overall inventory management across the business; including but not limited to SAP Improvements across Receiving, Production & Shipping related solutions. Participate & lead system solutions and testing across Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) as required.
  • Oversee the design and development of inventory management metrics and reports to support business requirements and play a key role in Business Process Design and Improvement.
  • Responsible for leading key inventory management improvement initiatives and provide data driven insight and resolution recommendations.
  • Collaborates with cross functional business partners to effect process improvements, implement process change, business strategy analysis, and application of information technology.
  • Supports growth by operating from a strategic perspective; evaluates and pursues business process improvement opportunities based on their fit with broader strategies across the supply chain.
  • Perform business operations including employee management, training, and staffing.
  • Identify staffing needs, interview, hire and train staff and maintain a steady stream of qualified candidates.
  • Provide guidance, training and direction to counterparts and subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance on a frequent basis.
  • Lead by example, evaluate departmental workload requirements and stay late when needed.
  • Manage, develop and monitor the progress of personnel.
  • Identify training requirements and train where needed.
  • Identify and rectify safety concerns.
  • Participate and lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives; Challenge the Status Quo and strive for excellence across the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Logistics required.
  • Certifications (CSCP, CPIM, Six Sigma Black Belt, Lean Certification, etc.)…desired
  • 5+ years experience in Manufacturing, strong data analytics and reporting
  • Experience with large scale cross-functional projects
  • Ability to lead in ambiguous situations
  • Management Experience - Employee Reviews, Employee Relations, Training, Hiring, Terminating & Developing
