Overview

The purpose of the Production Supervisor role is to ensure that all production is finished on time, completely, and to specification so that all customers receive their orders in full within the standard stated lead times.

Responsibilities

• Wears PPE as outlined in the Sonny’s PPE policy and ensures that team members do as well
• Observes team member work behaviors and corrects unsafe work practices
• Attends monthly safety trainings and ensures team members atteno Performs interviews and selects candidates from a candidate pool developed by the Plant Manager
• Interviews candidates for skill, time span capability, interest/passion, and required behaviors
• Communicates staffing needs to Plant Manager with 3+ months’ notice
• Each new hire is assigned a mentor and is trained on the critical job functions, housekeeping procedures, and behaviors associated with company culture (see KRA #8)
• Each new hire is integrated into company culture within the first 30 days of employment
• Trains new hires on required equipment and job requirements to proficiency level using training guides, work instructions, etc.
• Communicates production schedule and priorities to team on a daily to weekly basis, depending on team member’s time span capability
• Transfers employees between machines, work areas, or work centers based on production needs
• Makes tactical staff allocation decisions to ensure all production is finished completely and timely
• Holds weekly safety huddles or “toolbox talks” prior to shift start every Monday
• Identifies and corrects unsafe work conditions or reports them to the Safety Manager
• Attends monthly safety committee meetings
• Implements safety improvements or initiatives as defined in safety committee meetings
• Ensures all walkways, emergency exits, and panels are kept free from obstruction in accordance with all local, state, and national safety codes

Qualifications

• High School Education required
• Degree Preferred
• Journeyman card or relevant industry certifications preferred, where applicable

• 5+ years’ experience in the field required
• 4+ years’ supervisory experience required
• 4+ years’ manufacturing shop experience preferred
• Experience using SAP or other ERP System preferred
