Overview

The Director of Procurement will be responsible for overseeing inventory optimization of purchased parts, implementation and deployment of supplier stocking programs, proactive shortage identification, escalation and resolution as well as tracking and measuring supplier performance. Leads high impact projects driving operational excellence. This position has multiple Procurement Managers as direct reports and leads an overall organization of 10-20 people.

Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain KPI’s for the performance of the overall Procurement organization

· Ensure goal alignment between SVP Procurement & Logistics and the overall Procurement organization by managing and tracking goals for managers and ensuring process flows up and down

· Develop & execute processes for measuring supplier performance and communicating scorecards with suppliers with the support and collaboration of the Quality organization

· Develop, execute and improve processes for critical part shortage identification, as well as escalation and resolution of shortages in manufacturing, distribution centers and drop-ship

· Monitor and right-size purchase part parameters supporting manufacturing and distribution centers using documented processes and regular adjustments optimizing both inventory levels and material availability

· Oversight and problem resolution for supplier payments, ensuring payment terms goals are met, supplier payment issues are addressed and working with Finance to ensure effective management of cash

· Work with Director Strategic Sourcing to transition NPI parts to production and phase in/phase out of parts & programs in order to minimize stranded inventory

· Work with Director Strategic Sourcing to implement supplier strategies, contracts and other changes with the goal to reduce risk and identify/implement cost savings projects

· Regular communications with VP Operations to ensure supply plans comply with space requirements in the plants, warehouses and distribution centers

· Implement and deploy stocking programs, while driving Kanban with key suppliers to reduce inventory investment without sacrificing material availability

· Manage the IT interface for the Procurement organization, ensuring IT improvements, reports, etc. are worked in a timely manner

· Management of large and high value projects

· Leads Indirect procurement, ensuring MRO supplies, services, capital and packaging spend is optimized

· Continuously analyze and track procurement costs, mitigate price increases, and negotiate with suppliers

· Collaborate with Director of Strategic Sourcing and cross functional teams to select suppliers that meet quality, cost and delivery requirements

· Build and lead a high-performing procurement team, providing coaching and mentorship

· Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the procurement team, seeking innovative solutions and best practices

Qualifications

· B.S./B.A. Degree in Business, Communications, Engineering, or other related discipline required and/or MBA preferred

· Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a combination of Procurement, Commodity/Category Management, Quality, Operations

· Strong analysis skills in Excel and other software including report writing, combining data from multiple sources, data interpretation, comparing different scenarios. Use of data analysis to make recommendations.

· Working knowledge of MRP, DSMS and PLM

· Strong contracts experience

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills. This person will be interacting with people at all levels and in all functions of the company and will need to be able to work in a team environment and influence others.

· Able to travel up to 30%

 

This is an on-site position in Tamarac, FL.
